Banana Cabana

After work was over we stayed an extra three days so we rented a house on the other side of the Island. The Banana Cabana, a cute little yellow 2 bed 2 bath place on the top of a hill. Our first night there was a little bit freaky, we were essentially in the middle of nowhere, with all sorts of creatures living all around us. I slept for the first time in bug netting, which didn't work out so well. When I woke I had 37 bug bites.......on one leg, I decided not to count the ones on my arms and the other leg, yowza! Also I'm not sure I dreamt this but I woke up thinking a lizard ran across my face. Because it was in the middle of nowhere and it was so silent I had to fall asleep with my ipod playing to drown out the silence. Here are a few shots of the house.

The entrance. To the right is the living and kitchen area on the left was the Master bedroom and one bathroom.

The living area

View from the laundry room into my room, which was downstairs from the main living area. Which at first seemed awesome but treking up the stairs in the middle of the night with all sorts of bugs and lizards not so much fun

My open air shower. I had no idea how great it was to shower outdoors. At first it felt weird to be naked and outdoors, but there were plenty of trees and wood slats to block anyone from seeing. I soon got used to it. On the second day, I was in the shower washing out the soap from my eyes when I look to my right and there are several men that were working on the house up the hill staring at me. Apparently the wood slats on the side of my shower were for "curb appeal" not to discourage onlookers. You're welcome workers, you are welcome.
